what does that mean though? consistency in what? what research papers have indicated this? what would inconsistency in fossils prove? fossils around the world develop in different circumstances, so they can’t all be the same, as they’re not all…

but the problem with those sources is that they are biased! darwin wasn’t trying to go against his religion, he found evidence that proved his theory, so he knew it very likely had to be true. those sources are trying to use science to prove their opinion, which doesn’t make them valid - for example, if i sent you examples from a website that was trying to prove why atheists were right, would that be fair? nope. my final point was basically that science cannot be be used to make you believe in one thing or another, it makes observations and comes up with theories based on that, which are then tested and retested until they’re finally like, “okay that’s probably true, heck it IS true”. but it’s not like “we must infiltrate the system and disprove christianity!!” it’s not like there is some huge conspiracy to brainwash us in school either!!

science is your friend n__n

if you wanna see DNA we’re extracting some from bananas in science club in the future, you are free to come. IT’LL BE FUN.

Whether it’s biased or not, those reasons are legit scientifically proved reasons why the earth is young. Even though they are trying to prove an opinion, aren’t those proofs enough to actually PROVE the opinion shown?

It’s just “VERY COINCIDENTAL” that the stories in the bible are supported through this evidence.

And in a way, evolution is, going against Christianity. Evolution is just a theory anyway, how come creationism isn’t taught in school, it can be counted as another “theory” except with more scientific evidence that backs it up.

The two main viewpoints are Evolution vs Creationism. There is no third party. So basically, the two opposing views go against each other.

Anyways, I just created this post because I wanted to defend Creationism, but I didn’t know it’d blow up to a big debate lolz

They don’t teach creationism cuz not everyone is Christian.

They teach it in Catholic schools though. And even with Creationism, they still taught us evolution and things that passed way beyond 6000 years ago. No one complained and said it was against their beliefs.

Yeah, exactly scientists and people blow off creationism because it’s a Christian point of view. It’s a religious point of view, but if they looked at the facts, they’d know that there is truth to it.

But they don’t. They just say, oh creationism is BS its just from the bible w.e w.e, but there’s scientific evidence to back it up, but no one’s willing to hear.

That’s what pisses me off.

no one ever tells us in school that relgion must be ‘wrong’ because the theory of evolution is ‘right’. they tell us that it’s not supposed to be a huge political issue, that evolution is based on many different pieces of evidence proved over and over, which is why it’s considered, for the most part, true. they’re not trying to tell us EVOLUTION IS RIGHT YOU CAN’T BELIEVE ANYTHING ELSE… we just study the evidence and it becomes obvious that it is very likely to be correct. but if something were to be discovered that disproved the theory, or that didn’t add up with the other evidence, then of course the theory would be modified, or would no longer be accepted anymore. there’s also the fact that creationist theories are religious based and schools can’t just teach one religion’s beliefs, or any at all. they teach science because it’s supposed to be neutral ~__~ maybe some of the things we learn in science class will be disproved in the future, and that’s perfectly fine, and that’s part of the whole scientific process! if you want to disprove a theory or say it’s wrong then you  need to fully understand the evidence that theory is based on, and then make a hypothesis about it, test it, draw conclusions from it, test it again, etc. etc. even i can’t fully argue and explain to you why evolution is a valid theory because i only studied it once in biology class, and there is so so much more to it.

and anyway, catholic schools teach evolution because they believe it can be integrated with their beliefs.

“They are presented as alternatives that exclude each other,” the pope said. “This clash is an absurdity because on one hand there is much scientific proof in favor of evolution, which appears as a reality that we must see and which enriches our understanding of life and being as such.”

On the other hand, there are certain questions that evolutionary theory can never answer: “Above all it does not answer the great philosophical question, ‘Where does everything come from?’” Christians, thus, can learn truth from science, but scientists must learn to accept the limits of their own work. No scientific investigation can ever prove that God does not exist, or that He did not create the world, or even that man is only the sum of his physical parts.

from the about.com page on Catholicism. i’m not religious but this is pretty much what i believe. that science can explain the physical stuff, but religion is also very important too to help you in understanding your purpose in life and how you should live life and spreading the love~ scientific discoveries can help you to see how amazing and unbelievable that life exists at this moment, but it can’t possibly tell you what you should do with this gift or why we’re alive.

as i’m trying to say over and over again… science isn’t trying to destroy religion. it has its own system of figuring out why something is very very likely to be fact, but it’s not like you can use science to prove or disprove god’s hand in the making of the universe. creationism can still be correct, it’s just not provable with the scientific process. it’s like explaining how why you think a painting is beautiful using math.

derp u_____u

Yeah I know science is pretty awesome because it glorifies God too. But I’m just mad that they don’t really teach it in school, even if there’s as much evidence about it like evolution.

And Catholic is not the same as Christian, jussayin’

I know Catholic isn’t the same, I’m just saying that if even a religious school teaches the general accepted evidence and doesn’t follow Creationism, why would a public school?
